Apple seeds macOS Monterey 12.3 Release Candidate developer beta

Apple has provided a sixth beta build and Release Candidate of macOS Monterey 12.3 to developers, in what could be one of the last before release.

The newest builds can be downloaded via the Apple Developer Center for those enrolled in the test program, or via an over-the-air update on devices running the beta software. Public betas typically arrive within a few days of the developer versions, via the Apple Beta Software Program website.

The Release Candidate surfaces after the fifth, which arrived on March 1. The fourth was released on February 22, the third on February 15, the second on February 8, and the first on January 27.

The main addition to macOS is Universal Control, a feature that lets a user expand their Mac's workspace onto their iPad and other nearby Macs. This is all performed automatically, and is also supported in the iPadOS 15.4 beta.

AppleInsider, and Apple itself, strongly advise users avoid installing the betas on to "mission-critical" or primary devices, as there is the very small chance of data loss or other issues. Instead, testers should install the betas onto secondary or non-essential devices, and to ensure there are sufficient backups of any important data before performing the update.
