Roku has gained the Apple Music app on its smart TV software, streaming players, and audio products.
Apple has been adding its services to multiple consumer platforms over the past few years and Roku was one of the outliers without Apple Music. Starting Monday, Roku users will be able to download the Apple Music app and sign in using their Apple credentials.
Roku is one of the top streaming platforms and was one of the first to get access to Apple TV+, but Apple Music remained absent until today. Even competitors like Amazon Fire TV have had Apple Music since 2019 and Chromecast gained the app in 2020.
Existing Apple Music subscribers can sign into the app on their Roku device of choice, be it a smart TV, streaming stick, or smart speaker. The app experience is a clone of Apple Music on other platforms with access to the user's custom library and other features like Apple Music One radio.
Apple Music is a $9.99 per month subscription, but families of six can get the service for $14.99. It is also available in any tier of the Apple One subscription bundle.
