Apple TV+ dramas earn two spots on AFI's best shows of the year list

The American Film Institute has placed Apple TV+ originals "Pachinko" and "Severance" on its ten best television programs of the year list.

While this may be the most recent recognition from AFI, Apple TV+ has been acknowledged by the institute in the past.

In 2021, "Ted Lasso" and "Schmigadoon!" received Television Programs of the Year honors.

The same year, "The Tragedy of Macbeth" and Academy Award winner "CODA" were named two of AFI's Movies of the Year.

In November, Apple Original Films premiered its documentary, "Selena Gomez: My Mind and Me" worldwide at AFI Fest in Hollywood.

Pachinko was really a huge surprise for us - as in we went into it knowing literally nothing about it (other than my wife, who is of Korean descent) saw Asian faces and said "sure, let's give that a shot."

It was a good show that really helped her/us understand a lot more about her heritage.
