A new leak claims to have details of the battery capacity for the forthcoming iPhone 18 Pro, and while it continues the pattern of improving every year, this time Apple has managed only a minor increase.

Back in February 2026, a leak claimed to show that the iPhone 18 Pro Max would have longer battery life than its predecessor, but only by a small amount. Now according to a leaker with only a mixed track record, the same is true for the iPhone 18 Pro.

Specifically, leaker Fixed Focus Digital reports that for the US, the iPhone 18 Pro will have a 4,288 mAh battery. For China, which still requires space for a physical SIM card, the capacity will be 4,056 mAh.

This compares to the iPhone 17 Pro which in its US version had a 4,252 mAh battery. That was actually almost 19% higher than the previous iPhone 16 Pro.

By comparison, if the reported figures are correct, the US iPhone 17 Pro's battery will be just 0.85% more than its predecessor. China's SIM-card model does better, with a 1.71% improvement on the previous model's 3,988 mAh.

Apple never quotes precise mAh figures for its batteries, preferring instead to give example hours of usage. So Apple described that 19% leap from the iPhone 16 Pro to the iPhone 17 Pro as meaning six more hours of on-device video playback, or eight more hours of streaming video.

Despite the fractional battery capacity improvement reported for the iPhone 18 Pro, though, it's not possible to say that the phone will stick to the same hours of usage. That's because the iPhone 18 Pro will have an A20 processor, which is reported to be significantly more power efficient.

The A20 is to be Apple's first 2-nanometer processor. Compared to the previous 3nm processors, it's been reported that the A20 would improve battery life and may also provide between 10% and 15% performance improvement.

However, the 2nm A20 processor is believed to cost Apple around twice what the A19 did. This latest leak speculates that this will be one more factor that forces Apple to raise its prices.
