Apple Store theft suspect injured in leap

A man accused of robbing the Apple Store at the Willow Grove Mall in Pennsylvania suffered a broken pelvis and tailbone after he attempted to escape by lowering himself from the second floor to the first.

According to 6 ABC, the man had expressed interest in purchasing MacBook Pros, and an iPhone 14, but then ran off with the items instead. A customer in the store tried to stop him, at which point the suspect dropped the items and fled, leading to the fall.

The now-hospitalized suspect has been charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, and harassment, in addition to the thefts.

Police seek two in the theft of iPhones and iPads from New Jersey Best Buy

Police are looking for a pair of suspects who took iPhones from inside the Best Buy in Mount Laurel, N.J., while one of them pulled a Glock 9mm on a store employee.

6 ABC reports the "brazen" theft claimed at least two iPhones and iPads and took place in the middle of a busy Sunday afternoon at the store. The two suspects are both males in their 20s or 30s, and both are "five feet tall or shorter," police told the TV station.

Man wanted for stealing 22 iPhones from AT&T store at gunpoint

A man in Ohio is wanted for stealing nearly two dozen iPhones from an AT&T store in the Columbus area.

According to NBC 4, police say the man held a store employee at gunpoint and stuffed 22 iPhones in a backpack. The suspect then fled out the back door of the store and fled in a waiting car.

Another iPad stolen from a member of Parliament

In another case of a member of the British Parliament having a government-issued device stolen, an unidentified MP had his iPad and laptop stolen from a service station.

Metro explains the theft took place in December. Cybersecurity experts called for greater "vigilance" by members of Parliament in safeguarding their devices.

Two men sentenced for stealing from U.K. Apple Stores

Two men were sentenced in late April for the December 2022 theft of 11 iPhones in two separate thefts from Apple Stores in Cambridge, in the U.K.

According to The Reading Chronicle, the two were sentenced to nine months and eight months, respectively, for the thefts, while one of them had an additional battery charge for kicking a security guard. In addition, drugs were found on the men, and the driver was found to be driving without insurance.

Prosecutors say man who crashed into Apple Store did not apply brakes

The man charged with second-degree murder after his car crashed into an Apple Store in Hingham, Mass. in November of 2022 is now on trial.

Per The Associated Press, prosecutors say the car was traveling as fast as 60 miles per hour and the man did not apply his brakes. In addition to second-degree murder, the man is charged with 22 counts of assault and battery.

The car, the prosecutor said at trial, "accelerated to a high speed ... before it veered to the left, drove up onto the sidewalk and then crashed through the glass door of the Apple store, went across the sales floor and crashed into the rear wall of the store."

Woman who was attacked in Philadelphia and had AirPods stolen sues hotel

A woman who was attacked and beaten by a group of eight young people in Philadelphia in February and had her AirPods stolen has sued the company that owns two nearby hotels for negligence.

According to The Philadelphia Inquirer, the 33-year-old woman was beaten into unconsciousness about a block away from the W Philadelphia Hotel and Element Philadelphia Hometown, both of which are owned by Marriott International. The woman says that workers at the hotels "did nothing to interfere or call police, and had allowed the group to loiter outside the buildings before the assault."

She suffered a traumatic brain injury, a concussion, a broken clavicle, and other injuries in the beating. Seven people accused of involvement in the attack, all between the ages of 11 and 14, were arrested in March.

Man wanted for stealing four iPhones

A 52-year-old Philadelphia man is wanted for stealing four iPhones from an AT&T store in North Coventry Township.

Sanatoga Post reports the man entered the store, expressed interest in buying an iPhone, and presented a photo ID, when the man "grabbed the phones off the table and ran from the store."

Delivery man in India accused of stealing 10 iPhones, replacing them with fakes

A delivery man for an e-commerce company in Gurugram, India, who was tasked with delivering 10 iPhones and a pair of AirPods replaced the items with fakes. He then had his brother return them to the company, claiming the customer could not be contacted.

The delivery man has since gone "on the run," India Today said.
