macOS Sonoma 14.1 developer beta 2 is out now

macOS Sonoma

Last updated

The second beta for macOS Sonoma 14.1 is now available for testing by developers on their Macs and MacBooks.

Developers enrolled in the program can access the latest builds by either visiting the Apple Developer Center or updating their Macs to the newest beta software. For public users, beta versions are normally made available through the Apple Beta Software Program after the developer versions are released.

macOS Sonoma was released to the public on September 26, and the first beta for macOS Sonoma 14.1 landed on September 27.

It is unclear exactly what is new in the version 14.1 beta, but it probably includes features that were initially announced in WWDC but failed to arrive in the initial release, so are arriving later into 2023.

The second beta is build number 23B5056e, replacing the first, 23B5046f.

At the same time as the new macOS Sonoma beta, Apple has also introduced a release candidate for macOS Ventura 13.6.8, which is build number 22G213, as well as the macOS Monterey 12.7.1 release candidate, build 21G913.
