On this week's episode of the HomeKit Insider podcast, your hosts talk up new products from Meross, how to get your MyQ garage door back into CarPlay, and several new MagSafe chargers.
Kicking off the episode, MyQ returns to CarPlay — with a catch. After discontinuing its dedicated HomeKit hub, MyQ has a new way to work for smart home users.
Anyone with a Honda or Acura CarPlay vehicle can use a connected app to bring their MyQ garage door into CarPlay. It isn't as seamless as the HomeKit version, but it doesn't bring the garage to your car's infotainment system.
Meross has seemingly released a few new products recently and your hosts talk about two of the coolest new ones such as the new fan controller with light switch and timely Christmas lights.
Netatmo has finally released its smart door lock after making its CES debut years ago. It's a retro fit lock and while it supports NFC, it doesn't support Apple HomeKit.
Nanoleaf has a pair of new light bulbs, a downward facing full-color can light and a GU10 smart bulb. They've also partnered with Umbra to create a new portable Matter-connected smart lamp.
We round out the episode with a discussion on iPhone 15 and MagSafe including highlighting three new MagSafe stands that have recently launched.

I use HomeBridge with the MyQ plugin to bring my garage door into HomeKit. 99% of the time, it works great. When MyQ decide to play silly buggers with the API, the plugin can have issues for a few days until they figure out how to make it work again. This does not happen often, and they’re quick to fix it.
Is there a link to the Meross Christmas lights?
My existing myQ bridge (which is HomeKit compatible) works great with my garage door and HomeKit. I love "Hey Siri open the garage door". 100% reliable.
