This AppleInsider deals roundup collects together the best storage offers appearing online. These range from hard drives to portable drives, and both static enclosures and versions intended to be as portable as a MacBook Pro.
24.0TB OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual
This dual-drive USB 3.2 enclosure from OWC offers both USB and eSATA connectivity, all in an aluminum casing. Holding two hard drives, the unit offers hardware RAID in 0, 1, Span, and Independent modes, so you have the choice of capacity, speed, or redundancy.
Offering transfer speeds of up to 407MB/s, the unit is also quiet, thanks to its low-decibel fan. It also has a three-year warranty with OWC.
The 24.0TB OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dual is usually $699.99, but it's available from OWC for $399 after instant rebates.
Samsung T7 Shield 1TB
A highly portable drive, the Samsung T7 Shield is made for rugged conditions, thanks to its solid-state storage and rubber exterior. The drive is also IP65 rated for dust and water resistance, so you could take it far off the beaten track with confidence.
The 1TB NVMe has transfer speeds of up to 1,050MB/s for reads and 1,000MB/s for writes over USB-C, with the rubber exterior actually helping to control heat generation.
The Samsung T7 Shield 1TB is available on Amazon for $79.99, down from $84.99.
Crucial X9 Pro 2TB
Offering high performance, the Crucial X9 Pro can handle read and write speeds of up to 1,050MB/s, with sustained performance of 975MB/s throughout the drive's capacity. That storage can also be secured thanks to 256-bit AES hardware encryption.
The drive is also hardwearing, with it including IP55 water and dust resistance, and is drop-proof at a height of up to 7.5 feet.
Amazon normally sells the Crucial X9 Pro 2TB for $129.99, but it's available now for $109.99.
Seagate IronWolf 12TB 3.5-inch NAS HDD
If you've taken the opportunity to acquire a RAID enclosure for your Mac or a network attached storage device for your network, you probably want to fill it with drives. Seagate's IronWolf drives are hard-wearing drives aimed at business and consumers, with it made foruse in a NAS with up to 8 bays.
With a cache of 256MB and a capacity of 12GB, these 3.5-inch 7,200RPM drives offer write speeds of 240 gigabytes per second individually, and can operate in temperatures up to 65C.
Amazon normally sells the Seagate Ironwolf 12TB NAS HDD for $259.99, but you can get it now for $199.99.
Yottamaster 5-bay USB-C Hard Drive Enclosure
Yottamaster's five-bay USB-C enclosure can, as the name implies, hold five hard drives in its aluminum trays. Capable of being used in RAID via macOS Disk Utility, the enclosure can hold up to a maximum of 90 terabytes.
Connectivity is handled by USB-C, with ports allowing another two USB-C devices to be connected as a daisy-chain. In theory, you can hook three of these together and have a total of 270TB of storage capacity for your Mac, all through USB-C.
Amazon usually lists the Yottamaster 5-bay USB-C Hard Drive Enclosure at $279.99, but for Prime subscribers, it's on sale at 20% off, for $223.99.
Mediasonic USB 3.2 4 Bay 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure
Mediasonic's enclosure is a four-bay device, supporting up to four 12TB drives. Each drive bay can support SATA 3 6.0Gbps transfers, with the enclosure itself connecting over USB-C to your Mac at up to 10Gbps.
Sporting a smart fan with built-in thermal sensor, the fan can be manually set to run at one of three speeds, or to change speed depending on the temperature. Though there is no hardware RAAID capacity, using macOS's tools for a software raid is a possibility here.
Normally priced at $169.99, you can get the Mediasonic USB 3.2 4 Bay 3.5" SATA Hard Drive Enclosure from Amazon for $149.99.
Ugreen M.2 NVMe USB-C SSD Enclosure
If you've secured yourself an NVMe M.2 stick in the sales, you could make it a portable drive by adding an enclosure. This Ugreen SSD enclosure offers a simple way to get started, including a tool-free assembly and support for many different sizes, up to 4TB.
The enclosure uses an advanced RTL9210 chip with short-circuit, over-current, and multi-protection to keep the disk and its stored data secure. Meanwhile the enclosure itself is made from aluminum and cushioned with silicone to help the drive survive drops and knocks.
The Ugreen M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure can be bought for $24.99.
Orico M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure with Thunderbolt
For some roles, such as creative industries, the speed you can read files from a drive is highly important. The Orico M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure uses Thunderbolt, giving it 40Gbps of bandwidth to play with, though it will also work with USB connections too at slower rates.
In terms of how fast it is, it is capable of read and write speeds of up to 2,831MB/s and 2,787MB/s respectively, depending on the NVMe drive you put inside it. The clear enclosure is also tool-free and has a fan on one end, all to keep the drive cool and working optimally during transfers.
The Orico M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure with Thunderbolt has a list price of $119.99, but if you use the on-page coupon, it can be yours for $75.99.
HyperDrive Next USB4 NVMe SSD Enclosure
Dubbed the world's fastest 40Gbps USB4 SSD enclosure, the HyperDrive Next USB4 NVMe SSD Enclosure claims to be able to work at speeds of up to 3,800MB/s, depending on the inserted drive. Hyper says the enclosure with a wide array of PCIe Gen4/3 M.2 NVMe SSDs, meaning it is built for both speed and compatibility.
The enclosure is made from 100% recycled aluminum, and uses a tool-less snap-in design. Held within a silicon protective screen, the enclosure can help the drive survive water and dust to an IP55 rating, while still looking great.
