Apple's global chief of procurement to retire after 24 years

Dan Rosckes, Apple's Vice President of Global Sourcing and Supply Management, is retiring after a career spanning more than two decades at the company.

Rosckes, who has been with Apple for 24 years, ran the company's hardware procurement group since 2022. His duties included negotiating deals with various suppliers and obtaining hardware components for Apple's products, which says a lot about the importance of his role at the company.

Every year, Apple orders a wide variety of components in overwhelmingly large quantities. The iPhone maker's hardware procurement group is tasked with sourcing the various components and making agreements with suppliers that ensure both a clear profit for Apple and the timely delivery of new hardware.

According to a Monday report from Bloomberg, Dan Rosckes will be replaced by his long-time deputy, David Tom, who became an Apple employee in 2003 and led the company's procurement of batteries, silicon, and wireless components.

Dan Rosckes, who is set to be replaced by David Tom, is a vice president at Apple. Executives such as Rosckes, together with the company's senior management, keep the company running on a day-to-day basis.

In August of 2024, it was revealed that the company's Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri, who's been at Apple for over a decade, would be stepping down from his position as CFO, and that he would be replaced by Kevan Parekh, VP of Financial Planning and Analysis, effective January 1, 2025.

Maestri's new, limited role at Apple will be head of the Corporate Service teams, and he will report directly to the company CEO Tim Cook. Multiple executives and key employees also left the company in 2023, with Apple's former Services VP Peter Stern being among them.
