As analysts insist the Apple Ring is either cancelled or on track, as Russian YouTubers keep claiming to have an unreleased M4 MacBook Pro, the AppleInsider Podcast looks at who and what to believe plus what's happening with Apple Intelligence.
The iPhone 16 range is still new — and we're all still getting used to its Camera Control — but so much of the news this week has been about products Apple has yet to announce. For instance, the Apple Ring is unquestionably over, or it's undeniably going to launch in 2026.
It's somewhat clearer that there will be an M4 MacBook Pro, that's certain. But various groups in Russia claim to already have several of them, which they appear to be keen to sell, except you can't buy any.
What you can do right now, though, is enjoy "Submerged" on Apple Vision Pro. AppleInsider's Mike Wuerthele says the tension and the environment is visceral — and he's ex-Navy, he's served on submarines so he knows.
Beyond the success of the film and of the format, "Submerged" is the first-ever scripted drama for the platform, and the question is why Apple is not launching more shows like this, some eight months after the headset came out.
BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition which this time is about the dark side of Apple. We might question how the company has handled the launch of the Apple Vision Pro, but there are ongoing issues with illegal union busting, there are repeated stories of how Apple treats its suppliers.

The Apple Ring has joined the infamous rank of buried products, of which Google is by far the largest resident of the moonshot cemetery.
