Apple has rolled out tvOS 18.2, a relatively minor update mostly focused on bug fixes and performance upgrades — but this time, you get new screensavers, too.
The recently introduced Snoopy screensavers were initially announced back in June at WWDC 2024. They can be used in conjunction with the existing screensaver options, including Memories & Slideshows and Portraits, which were introduced as part of the tvOS 18 update.
Apple has collaborated with "Peanuts" in the past, releasing multiple specials on Apple TV+ over the years. Apple Watch users have been able to use watch faces featuring Snoopy.
Every year, Apple offers free viewing of "Peanuts" holiday specials, such as "A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas". Apple TV+ subscribers, however, can watch these specials at any time.

Not available for gen 1 4k Apple TV.
I have 2nd Generation Apple Tv 4Ks in all of the rooms in my house and after updating none of them show the Snoopy screensavers to have been downloaded. What is going on?

Apple TV support document says the new feature are 4k gen 2 and above. I can see that about some features like AI, but why can't the screensaver work on get 1?
Snoopy was being considered by IBM as the advertising mascot for the IBM PC, over 40 years ago, but they settled for Charlie Chaplin instead.
