Delays with Apple Intelligence have taken a new direction as Apple replaces its AI head, while there are so many more iPhone 17 rumors — and Apple really has looked at developing a folding Apple Watch, all on the AppleInsider Podcast.
Just when you thought you knew everything about Apple Intelligence delays, Apple goes and does what it was supposed to be avoiding — despite claims that no heads would roll, it now looks like one has. Even as this edition was being recorded, the first word came of Apple Intelligence chief John Giannandrea being replaced.
It won't have an impact on what we see of Apple Intelligence at WWDC, but it will surely make a difference to the future and maybe the future direction of Apple's AI efforts.
In the meantime, though, there are iPhone 17 rumors aplenty. And also a folding Apple Watch: it's not a product yet, but it's also not just a rumor, because we have documentary evidence that Apple has at least considered this — in detail.
BONUS: Subscribe via Patreon or Apple Podcasts to hear AppleInsider+, the extended edition. This week, Apple thinks it should be left alone while regulators everywhere want to micromanage it — regardless of politics, should Apple have a closed ecosystem the way it does now?

Folding Apple Watch. The hell is that? I remember that donkey's years ago
I think Apple is flailing about and losing the plot.
Folding phone. Folding watch. What next? A Mac that opens up into a multi-faceted desk sized computer called the iMicMac?
Gimme a break.
