Multiple Beats products are slated to receive new color options like Dark Slate and Pink, according to a report published on Tuesday.

Apple has owned the audio accessory company Beats Electronics for well over a decade, having purchased it all the way back in August 2014. While the Beats streaming service was integrated into Apple Music, its headphones are still sold under the same iconic brand, albeit under the Apple umbrella.

As a result, it's not uncommon to see references to upcoming Beats products in Apple code. Currently, Apple appears to be working on new colors for its existing products, though, according to a MacRumors report, and the information originates from Apple code.

Specifically, references to Dark Slate and Pink colors for the Beats Studio Pro were discovered, among others. These may correspond to the Sand Gray and Soft Pink color options, which have surfaced previously. Apple's colors often have multiple internal identifiers, so these may be the same color options. This rumor has earned the "possible" rating for the time being.

The Beats Solo 4, meanwhile, are expected to gain rose gold and champagne color options, in addition to the existing variants.

Finally, the Beats Solo Buds are set to receive a new color, known internally as "icing." It appears to be a yellow-ish beige hue, based on the images in the Tuesday report.

Apple's color options are sometimes known by different names, with some being used by the companies that assemble Apple products. The "Natural Titanium" option of the iPhone 15 Pro, for instance, was also called "Titanium Gray" internally.

The color that Apple marketed as "Blue Titanium" was internally referred to as "Blue 21," and so on. This lends some credence to the rumor, particularly as it pertains to the Beats Solo 4.

Apple will certainly debut these color options at some point, though it remains to be seen exactly when they will arrive. The iPhone maker could unveil them alongside the iPhone 17 at its launch event on September 9.
