Apple's ultra-thin iPhone Air has debuted with a series of unique accessories, and among them is a new MagSafe battery.

Apple says the iPhone Air offers all-day battery life, with Apple Silicon that makes it "the most power efficient iPhone yet." Still, the company opted to promote a redesigned MagSafe battery during its "Awe Dropping" event, as an accessory for the iPhone Air

The new MagSafe battery features an ultra-thin profile, which lets it fit in your pocket. According to Apple, the iPhone Air can deliver up to 40 hours of battery life when used with the redesigned MagSafe battery. This makes the device great for road trips and long flights.

Apple says that the battery was designed exclusively for the iPhone Air. It's not yet clear if it will work on any other device, but if Apple has adhered to the Qi 2 standard, it should.

The iPhone in conjunction with the battery will choose the best times to recharge. Apple also says that the battery will provide 12W of fast wireless charging.

Interestingly, Apple says that with the iPhone Air, users can attach the MagSafe Battery and connect it to a 20W or higher wired power adapter at the same time.

Apple's new MagSafe battery for iPhone Air retails for $99.

Even though Apple has included the high-end A19 Pro chip in the iPhone Air, the company has also added performance-enhancing chips. This includes the updated C1X modem, which is faster than the modem in the iPhone 16 Pro and uses 30% less energy.
