Apple's October launches are expected to happen soon, with the M5 iPad Pro refresh suspected to arrive in the next week, accompanied by a Vision Pro upgrade, and possibly the MacBook Pro too.
Following Apple's traditional September event when it launched the iPhone 17 lineup, there is usually the expectation that Apple will be holding a second event at some point. While the usual event timing for October has already passed, Apple is still believed to be preparing for launches in the coming days.
According to Mark Gurman in Sunday's "Power On" newsletter for Bloomberg, the launches are about to become a reality.
However, this time it will apparently be an online-only event, not one held in person at Apple Park. This isn't unusual, as Apple has carried out simpler product launches for its products in the past, especially when they are considered to be spec-bump or minor upgrades.
The usual suspects
Gurman's proposed product launches for October are not hard for any observer of Apple's business to guess. With updates made to the iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lines in September, that leaves the iPad, MacBook, and Vision Pro as the next set of launch candidates.
The newsletter firmly believes that an M5 iPad Pro is on the cards. Part of the M5 Apple Silicon rollout, the iPad Pro models aren't expected to have major changes, aside from the new chip.
To go with it, Gurman believes that the long-awaited upgrade of the Apple Vision Pro will happen. The model will supposedly include a new faster chip as well as an improved strap, possibly the Dual Knit Band.
Both the updated iPad Pro and Apple Vision Pro are allegedly in mass production and are set up for an imminent release.
Since the M5 chip is launching in the week, there is also a good chance of Mac updates. Gurman proposes that the entry-level model of the 14-inch MacBook Pro could make an appearance, using the M5 chip.
A proper update to the MacBook Pro line probably won't happen until early 2026, when Apple introduces the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips.
Apple also has other updates waiting in the wings, including a new AirTag, a new HomePod mini, and a refreshed Apple TV, with each having a good chance of appearing during the launch period.
Other products including versions of the iPad Air, entry-level iPad, monitors, and M5 MacBook Air, are anticipated for launch early in 2026.
