Serial leaker Jon Prosser says he's been talking with Apple all along, even as court records suggest he ghosted the company entirely.

On Monday, it was learned that Jon Prosser — the leaker at the center of Apple's ongoing lawsuit — reportedly missed the deadline to respond to Apple's complaint. Less than a day later, he's insisting that's not the case.

"All I can tell you is that regardless of what is being reported, and regardless of what the court documents say — I have, in fact, been in active communications with Apple since the beginning stages of this case," Prosser told The Verge.

"The notion that I'm ignoring the case is incorrect. That's all I am able to say," Prosser added.

Of course, Apple's court documents say otherwise. The company filed an entry of default against Prosser, which was granted on October 17.

What's happened so far

In April, Prosser took to YouTube to show off what he claimed were designs of the yet-unannounced iOS 26. This leak accurately depicted Apple's new Liquid Glass design nearly two full months before Apple announced it.

Apple later determined that Prosser's associate, Michael Ramacciotti, had unlawfully accessed a development iPhone running an early build of iOS 26. Ramacciotti reportedly showed the software to Prosser over FaceTime before confessing directly to Apple.

Apple maintains that Prosser was the mastermind behind the scheme. Prosser claimed that he was "unaware of the situation playing out."

As a result, Apple filed a lawsuit against both Prosser and Ramacciotti in July. Apple, as well as the courts, claim that Prosser never responded to the lawsuit.
