Apple's head of Apple Pay has given a keynote speech at a financial technology conference, revealing Apple Wallet figures, and that US passport is coming soon.

This new feature for Apple Wallet has been in the works for many years, and Apple's website recently added that it would launch in 2025. Now for the first time, Apple has publicly spoken about it.

Jennifer Bailey, Apple vice president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, gave a keynote speech at the Money 20/20 USA conference, as spotted by 9to5Mac. It's a global financial technology conference, which has been running since 2012.

Bailey spoke at the conference's "The Money Awards" on Sunday, October 26, 2025. The conference has yet to add the keynote speech to its YouTube channel, but it has released a 30-second clip to social media.

"So really, everything that is in your wallet, we've been working to replace," she said. "We've been making great, great progress."

Bailey is also reported to have explicitly confirmed that US passport support is coming.

She said that the aim was to enable users to use this on-iPhone passport at selected TSA checkpoints during domestic travel.

Bailey also revealed certain key details about the success of Apple's efforts in financial technology. Specifically, she said that Apple Pay:

  • Stopped over $1 billion in fraud in the last year
  • Is now accepted at 90% of US retailers
  • Is available in 89 markets globally
  • Is available across 11,000 banks and payment systems

She also said that the current 90% acceptance rate compares to just 3% when Apple Pay first launched in 2014.

And Apple Pay's prevention of $1 billion of fraud is between 60% and 90% higher than credit cards achieved in the same situation.

Bailey also promoted overall Apple Wallet details. She said that:

  • 250 regions and 800 cities support transit features
  • Over 2 million hotel room keys have been made through Apple Wallet
  • Over 65,000 hotel rooms support Apple Wallet keys
  • Car Key is available with 29 car manufacturers

The new US passport support will come in an update to iOS 26. Apple is currently on its fourth beta release of iOS 26.1, though at present there is no sign of the passport feature.
