Apple TV has earned 23 nominations for the forthcoming Children's and Family Emmy Awards, with "Time Bandits" leading the list.
The TV series adaptation of the 1981 "Time Bandits" movie lasted only a single season on Apple TV before being cancelled. But the show, which had been in the works since 2018, has been recognized by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
"Time Bandits" has been nominated in seven categories:
- Young Teen Series
- Lisa Kudrow: Lead Performer in a Preschool, Children's or Young Teen Program
- Jemaine Clement, lain Morris, Taika Waititi: Writing for a Young Teen Series, episode "Kevin Haddock"
- Directing for a Live Action Series: episode "Kevin Haddock"
- Art Direction/Set Decoration/Scenic Design: episode "Kevin Haddock"
- Hairstyling and Makeup: episode "Kevin Haddock"
- Visual Effects for a Live Action Program: episode "Kevin Haddock"
"Wonder Pets: In the City," is up for five nominations, including Writing for a Preschool Animated Series for - Steven Altiere, and Younger Voice Performer for Vanessa Huszar.
There are also two nominations each for "Me," "Goldie," and "Eva the Owlet." "WondLa" and "Yo Gabba GabbaLand!" have one nomination.
"Jane," the series about the life of conservationist Jane Goodall has been nominated in three categories. They include the category for best Preschool, Children's, or Family Viewing Series.
That series was made in collaboration with the late Goodall. One of her final works was also a collaboration with Apple, as she voices the new Macintosh ad campaign.
The winners of the 4th Annual Children's and Family Emmy Awards will be announced in two ceremonies. The first is on March 1, 2026, and the second is on the following day.
In 2024, Apple was nominated for 27 awards. It then won a total of five at the awards ceremonies.
