Apple has pledged it will donate to relief efforts after a deadly fire devastated a high-rise apartment complex in Hong Kong.

A fire broke out Wednesday at a sprawling multi-tower apartment complex. Seven residential blocks were affected by the blaze, leaving at least 120 people dead and more than 200 still missing.

On Friday, Apple CEO Tim Cook took to X to announce that the company would be donating to relief efforts on the ground.

The complex, known as Wang Fuk Court, is the largest apartment complex in Hong Kong's Tai Po district. The complex consists of eight tower blocks, each 31 stories high, and is home to more than 4,000 people — many of whom are elderly.

Hong Kong's Fire Service says that alarms in all eight buildings failed to sound. There have been at least ten arrests made on suspicion of manslaughter "by way of gross negligence" according to CNN.
