Season two of "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters" will premiere in late February on Apple TV, introducing a new Titan alongside Godzilla and Kong.

The second season continues Apple TV's expansion of the Monsterverse, a franchise Apple has positioned as a long-term streaming anchor. The series remains one of the platform's few large-scale effects-driven dramas produced exclusively for Apple TV.

Season two consists of 10 episodes. The premiere will be on February 27, with weekly releases running through May 1.

What's new in season two

Apple confirmed that season two introduces Titan X, a previously unseen Monsterverse creature tied to events emerging from the ocean. Godzilla returns alongside Kong, expanding the show's scope beyond season one's more grounded mystery.

The story revisits Monarch's internal collapse while shifting action to Skull Island and a newly revealed coastal settlement. The narrative continues to span multiple timelines tied to Lee Shaw's past and present.

Returning cast members include Kiersey Clemons, Anders Holm, Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Joe Tippett, Ren Watabe, and Mari Yamamoto. New guest stars include Cliff Curtis, Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, and Dominique Tipper.

The series is produced by Legendary Television, with Chris Black serving as showrunner. Toho remains involved as the rights holder for Godzilla.

The Monsterverse matters for Apple TV

Monarch remains Apple TV's only live-action series directly connected to a major theatrical franchise. Unlike licensed catalog titles, the Monsterverse shows are exclusive to Apple's service and designed to support long-term subscriber retention.

Apple has already announced additional Monsterverse projects, including a Young Lee Shaw prequel series. That signals continued investment rather than a one-off renewal.

Season two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters premieres February 27 on Apple TV, with weekly episodes released every Friday.
