Apple TV has landed six nominations in the prestigious American Cinema Editors awards, honoring "F1: the Movie," plus "Severance, "Pluribus," and "Mr. Scorsese."
Following its Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, "F1" has been acknowledged in the top category of the American Cinema Editors (ACE) awards. These are the 76th annual ACE awards honoring exceptional editing across both film and television.
Apple has been nominated in four categories. Stephen Mirrione is up for Best Edited Feature Film (Drama, Theatrical) with "F1," where his competition includes "Sinners" and "Hamnet."
Then the "All This Filming Isn't Necessary" episode of "Mr. Scorsese" sees David Bartner nominated for Best Edited Documentary Series. And Eric Kissack has been nominated in the Best Edited Single Camera Comedy Series category for "The Promotion" in "The Studio."
Apple has three of the five nominations for Best Edited Drama Series, including two for "Severance." Keith Fraase and Geoffrey Richman are competing with their episodes, "Chikhai Bardo" and "Cold Harbor," respectively.
They're also up against Skip Macdonald for the "We is Us" episode of "Pluribus."
Apple has been nominated for ACE awards many times, including for "Steve! (Martin): A Documentary in 2 Pieces." To date, it has won only one, "Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie," in 2024.
The winners of the 76th American Cinema Editors awards will be announced on February 27.
Separately, "Severance" editor Geoffrey Richman was previously profiled by Apple. It was a piece highlighting all of the Apple hardware and software he uses for the show. It notably did not include Apple's own editing app, Final Cut Pro.
