The MacBook Neo has yet to reach end consumers, but the new budget-oriented laptop already has a bug-fix update — macOS 26.3.2.

Following the debut of macOS 26.4 beta 4, which included MacBook Neo wallpapers, Apple has deployed a software update specifically for the low-cost laptop.

As AppleInsider predicted, the MacBook Neo comes with a special build of macOS 26.3 preinstalled. Less than a week has passed since the device was announced, and it's already received its first minor update — macOS 26.3.2.

Apple's release notes for macOS 26.3.2 say the update requires a MacBook Neo, and that it includes bug fixes for the entry-level notebook.

The macOS update is not offered on older Macs, meaning it likely includes hardware-specific adjustments and quality-of-life improvements. It does not appear to be available for the recently-announced M5 MacBook Air, or the M5 Pro and M5 Max MacBook Pro models, either.

Separately, the fourth developer beta of the next major software update, macOS Tahoe 26.4, delivers eight new emoji characters, including a distorted face, an orca, and Bigfoot. The software is still in beta testing and will likely be released sometime in the spring of 2026.

Internal builds of macOS 26.4 are compatible with the as-of-yet unreleased M5 and M5 Pro variants of the Mac mini, as well as two new Mac Studio configurations. These products are expected to follow the MacBook Neo, and we can expect to see them later in 2026.
