Apple CEO Tim Cook's world tour continues with a stop in Western China to meet fans and photograph them with his iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Continuing the series of worldwide events marking Apple's 50the anniversary, the Apple Chengdu Taikoo Li store in China has hosted a concert by Chris Lee. Lee, also known as Li Yuchun, performed on a specially constructed multi-level stage outside the store, featuring elevating platforms, and a dozen dancers.

Tim Cook was in attendance and social media posts show him posing for photographs. He also took photos of the crowd himself, using his orange iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Cook has yet to post any of those images or comment online about his China trip. However, but the event was visibly being filmed, so the concert may yet be streamed.
His tour promoting Apple's anniversary has also seen him on the interview circuit, talking about the impact of the company on the world. In one of the most recent appearances, he denied having said before that he was thinking of retirement and insisted he "can't imagine life without Apple."

The concert took place in the evening of March 17, 2026, local time in Chengdu, Western China. It was the second full concert performed for the Apple anniversary, following the Alicia Keys on at Apple Grand Central, New York.
It was then followed by a performance and Today at Apple talk in Seoul by K-Pop boy band Cortis.
