As a part of the ongoing 50th anniversary celebration, Apple was invited to remotely ring in the Nasdaq Opening Bell. CEO Tim Cook did the honors and gave a speech from Apple Park.

Apple has spent the previous week celebrating its 50th anniversary with concerts at Apple stores around the world. Paul McCartney will conclude Apple's 50th anniversary celebrations Wednesday evening.

In the meantime, Apple CEO Tim Cook, surrounded by his top executives, rang the Nasdaq Opening Bell Wednesday from Apple Park. He was presented with an award and plaque after giving a brief speech.

The speech echoed his letter that opened Apple's anniversary celebrations. He again focused on how over 50 years, Apple has aimed to give users the ability to enhance their lives through technology.

The entirety of the 12 minute spectacle can be viewed via Nasdaq's website. There's even several minutes they didn't bother editing out where everyone posed for photos.

Here's Cook's speech in full:

Thank you, Adina, and thank you, Nasdaq.

I'm thrilled to join you to mark Apple's 50th anniversary and to celebrate all of the incredible things our users continue to do with our products.

50 years ago, Apple began with a big dream in Steve's garage, fueled by a simple but radical belief that technology should empower people and enrich their lives, and give them the power to change the world.

Our team set out to build tools for everyone — the dreamers, the creators, the visionaries, the people who think different, and everyone who wants to make their own impact on tomorrow.

And for five decades, our users have made their mark on the world. They've launched small businesses and transformed industries. They've advanced life-saving science and made art that moved us.

They built apps that reach millions and pioneered new ways to learn, create, and connect with the people who matter most. They've proven time and time again, that with the right tools, human potential is truly boundless.

All of this is possible because our amazing teams, the people who come to work every day believing, genuinely believing, that what they're building matters.

They constantly push themselves to do the best work of their lives, and I'm deeply grateful for the ingenuity, imagination, and dedication they bring to everything they do.

I also want to thank every one of our shareholders for your trust, your long-term support, and your belief in Apple's mission.

We'll keep pushing the limits of what technology can do to unlock human potential, to unleash possibility, to empower our users to shape the future.

Here's to the next 50 years and to the incredible things we'll keep building together. Thank you.

Apple's 50th anniversary celebration has focused around events catering to employees and private concerts. So far, nothing Apple has done has roped in the consumer base.

The company is known for not liking looking back, but it made a special exception for the 50th. There could be some big announcement for consumers on April 1st, or we all might get to be April Fools instead.
