As expected, Paul McCartney was the star act as Apple concluded its 50th anniversary celebrations at Apple Park, and employees have been sharing videos of the party.

McCartney's appearance had been rumored in the past few days and then confirmed as images from his soundcheck at Apple Park were shown across social media. Now he's played a career-spanning set in front of thousands of Apple employees, many of whom have been sharing images and videos of the night.

McCartney was introduced by Apple CEO Tim Cook who called him "a songwriter, a pioneer and one of the most influential artists of all time." Cook even delivered those words in the same tone Steve Jobs famously did with the iPhone when he said it was "a widescreen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone, and an internet communicator."

If Cook intentionally made a call back to those words, he failed to carry it on with the conclusion — "Are you getting it?"

Instead, Cook said that he's "been a lifelong fan of his music and so have billions of people all over the planet."

Cook concluded his introduction by encouraging the crowd to enjoy the show, and saying "I love you!"

McCartney played under the Apple Park rainbow arches, and his set included "Got To Get You Into My Life"

Apple employees also got special anniversary gift bags. Those bags and this concert brought to an end weeks of Apple celebrations, which started with an open letter from Tim Cook, and took in events around the world.
