The next generation of iPhone screen is rumored to be called the "Liquid Glass Display," with an all-glass design that bends light to minimize the bezel.
The iPhone display has been the topic of rumors for a while, with most attention on the flexible version in the iPhone Fold. However, Apple is always looking to create screens that take advantage of new technologies, shaking up the aesthetics of its premier models.
According to a Monday tweet by leaker Ice Universe, Apple's next generation of screen will be called a "Liquid Glass Display." The leaker insists it's not a traditional quad curved display, nor will it be like the curved displays seen on Android devices.
Describing the display as having an "extremely subtle" curvature, Ice Universe says it will use a combination of techniques to minimize the bezel almost completely from sight. This will include optical refraction, light-guiding structures, and other glass-affecting methods.
The result will be an edge that remains "natural and disturbed," which will apparently flow like a liquid.
Anonymous social media account leakers on X and Weibo aren't usually considered reliable sources for iPhone leaks, unless they have a track record. In the case of Ice Universe, they are one of the more reliable leakers of this category.
That said, the leak is about future plans, but doesn't discuss expectations of timing or other specifics.
This is not the first time Ice Universe has discussed the display.
In a lengthy X post in January, Ice Universe doubted reports that a quad-curved design would be used, and instead Apple would fake the curved look with a "3D-molded cover glass" instead.

The idea of Apple making big changes to the way it produces the iPhone to make it even more glass-centric has been a topic spanning multiple years.
We know that Apple has considered making an all-glass enclosure for the iPhone, as it has filed multiple patents on the topic. Back in 2019, it proposed a device with a wrap-around display, while in 2020, Apple talked about making tubular devices.
In some cases, this involved a design where the screen curved around the edges, making elements readable from a side-on viewpoint.
When it comes to upcoming releases, the 20th-anniversary iPhone is probably the biggest opportunity for Apple to use the concept.
An August 2025 report claimed Apple will be using a curved iPhone design for the first time in the model.
More recently, on April 24, a leaker said that Apple was employing Samsung to make quad-curved displays for the 20th-anniversary iPhone.
This would go against Ice Universe's previous discussion on the topic, which involved a
If Ice Universe's rumor is about the 20th-anniversary iPhone's display, we should see the end result with its release in 2027.
