Pixelmator Photo 1.5 adds support for ProRAW alongside other features

Pixelmator has debuted a new version of its Photo app with support for the Apple ProRAW format, as well as other improvements and features.

The Pixelmator Photo 1.5 update, released on Thursday, brings full support for ProRAW, the image format introduced with the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. ProRAW lets users reap the benefits of shooting in RAW while maintaining Apple's computational photography features.

The support in Pixelmator Photo means that users can take advantage of the additional image information and detail when editing. The latest update also introduces a new on-image curves feature that lets users tweak the tonal curve directly in an image and improved shadow and highlight recovery functionality.
