Amazon Prime Day 2021 is on June 21 and 22

Amazon Prime Day 2021 will be on June 21 and June 22

Last updated

Amazon has confirmed that it will be returning its "Amazon Prime Day" sales event to the summer, with it happening on Monday June 21, and Tuesday June 22, 2021.

Following 2020's coronavirus delays that saw the annual sales drive moved to October, Amazon has this time brought it slightly forward. Instead of the traditional July dates, it will be running in the third week of June.

There are, however, already certain Prime Day deals on offer for the US version of Amazon. They include technology stapes such as certain USB cables, and chargers.

Amazon Prime Day was originally a single day in July 2015, and launched to mark the retailer's 20th anniversary. It returned in 2016 and then in 2017 the 24-hour sale was extended to 30 hours.

For 2018, the "day" was further extended to run 36 hours. And then in 2019, it adopted its current two-day format.

That format is to release a series of marked-down special offers on over a million deals during the event. To benefit from any of the deals, customers have to be members of Amazon Prime — but they can sign up for a 30-day trial of the service in order to qualify.
