The Apple TV+ psychological thriller "Surface" is to get a second run, with its lead character relocating to London in her attempt to uncover her past.
"Surface" recounted the story of Sophie (star and executive producer Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who has extreme memory loss following what appeared to be a suicide attempt. The first season saw her trying to uncover and understand her true identity, while the second is to see take her to London, and further back into her past.
"This is really a brand new chapter set in a whole new world," said series creator Veronica West. "I can't wait for people to see how the show evolves as we explore an emboldened, fearless Sophie in season two."
"I am thrilled to continue this journey and dive deeper into the tension and mystery of 'Surface' with this brilliant team," said Mbatha-Raw. "I love playing Sophie and I can't wait for fans and new audiences to join us as she enters the dangerous new world of her past in season two."
"As an actor and executive producer," she continued, "it's incredibly meaningful to be bringing this story home to London."
No streaming date for season 2 has been announced yet. The eight-episode first season is streaming now on Apple TV+.

Man this one was a snore fest for us.
I wouldn't have thought that a show about the horrors of using a Microsoft designed notebook would be this popular, but hey, different strokes, I guess...
