A new app turns Apple Vision Pro into a virtual design studio where teams can collaborate across continents as if in the same room.
Analogue, explicitly crafted for Apple Vision Pro, enables design teams to collaborate in real-time immersive settings. It effectively tackles issues like workflow bottlenecks and compatibility problems, allowing teams to work together from any location and create prototypes without coding.
The platform caters to various industries, including retail, architecture, automotive design, and product development. Key features of Analogue include:
- Real-time collaboration through SharePlay on FaceTime.
- Customizable viewpoints via Vantage Points.
- Real-time asset testing with Asset Variants.
These features help teams expedite design approvals and support innovation. Spatial has developed curated Launch Scenes tailored for different sectors to showcase its potential.
The platform supports virtual design reviews in automotive design, enabling teams to evaluate and refine vehicle interiors in immersive 3D environments. Analogue allows architecture teams to create realistic pre-visualizations for projects like lobbies, retail pop-ups, and other dynamic spaces.
The platform can also streamline product development with interactive 3D design reviews. Teams can collaborate in real-time, offering feedback and refining details within a shared virtual space.
"We're proud to work with Spatial to build on National Geographic's rich storytelling legacy, inviting countless more people to join us in our mission to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world," said National Geographic Society CEO Jill Tiefenthaler. "Embracing innovative technology helps us connect our audiences to the science, beauty, and mysteries of our planet in entirely new and creative ways — inspiring the Explorer in everyone."
Spatial's future
Spatial collaborates with top design teams to refine Analogue's immersive viewer experiences. At the same time, the company is developing Analogue Designer, a native 3D design tool set to launch in early 2025.
Built on modern spatial computing standards, the tool aims to transform and accelerate traditional creative workflows for teams worldwide. With native support for OpenUSD, Analogue Designer integrates smoothly into previously complex 3D workflows.
OpenUSD support eliminates proprietary roadblocks and significantly speeds up design reviews. OpenUSD is rapidly gaining industry backing from founding members like Pixar, Apple, NVIDIA, Adobe, and Autodesk.
Spatial, a 2023 member of the Alliance for OpenUSD, streamlines design processes and boosts 3D collaboration across industries.
Analogue is available to download from the visionOS App Store.

Awesome to see. THIS is where Apple should be positioning the Vision Pro. They need to stop making it seem like a mainstream device with focuses on watching TV on it, and focus more on its benefits to the professional space. Emphasize the PRO in Vision Pro. We saw it already in the medical field, and seeing tools like this only further prove that’s where Vision Pro in its current state can best fit into the world. Treat it like the Mac Pro - a state of the art piece of tech meant for a more niche but professional audience.
More so however, Apple themselves needs to make a greater push with making more of their OWN apps available (and existing ones better) natively on the device. If they don’t lead the way and drive interest and ecosystem integration themselves, buzz won’t take off the ground much more and third parties will lose interest. They need to the lead the way.
Nice to see developers coming up with solutions like this aimed at truly “pro” users.
