Apple has added the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3 to its list of vintage products, as it's been more than five years since both devices launched.
The iPhone 11 Pro Max, launched in 2019, was the first iPhone to feature a triple-camera system on the rear. Along with its smaller iPhone 11 Pro counterpart, the iPhone 11 Pro Max brought the "Pro" branding to the iPhone, but that was more than five years ago.
Apple considers one of its products "vintage" when it stops distributing them for sale more than five years ago, and less than seven years ago. The company provides service and parts for vintage products for up to seven years, assuming the necessary parts are available.
As noted by MacRumors, the iPhone maker has also added the Apple Watch Series 3 to its vintage products list. Released in 2017, the Apple Watch Series 3 introduced built-in cellular connectivity. It was also the first Apple Watch to feature a barometric altimeter, used to measure relative elevation.
Though it debuted eight years ago, the Apple Watch Series 3 was offered as a more affordable option until its discontinuation in 2022.
At the time of writing, Apple and its authorized service providers will continue to offer repairs for the iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3. This assumes, of course, that the necessary parts will remain available.
Once a product hasn't been sold new for more than seven years, it's classified by Apple as "obsolete." The iPhone 11 Pro Max and Apple Watch Series 3 are two years away from becoming "obsolete," at which point Apple will no longer offer repairs for either device.
