The iPad mini, often seen as Apple's pocket-sized luxury, has dropped to $379 during Amazon's Prime Big Deal Days sale event.

That $379 price makes the smallest iPad less of a splurge and more of a savvy buy for anyone craving power in a compact frame.

The iPad mini 7 with the A17 Pro chip usually retails for $499 at Apple and other big-box stores. In July 2025, Amazon cut the price to $379 during Prime Day, marking one of the tablet's lowest-ever sales.

Since then, the sale has returned in occasional deals.

Amazon has listed the iPad mini 7 at $379 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, shaving $120 off Apple's list price. The same figure also appears on Apple's refurbished site, though that's typically for the iPad mini 6 from 2021 with the A15 chip.

Why the iPad mini 7 discount matters

The iPad mini 7 is Apple's most portable tablet but it doesn't skimp on power. It's equipped with the A17 Pro chip, the same processor found in the iPhone 16 Pro models, making it capable of running demanding apps and games.

Its 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display supports True Tone and wide color, giving it sharp and vibrant visuals. The tablet also features USB-C, 5G support on cellular models, and Apple Pencil compatibility for note-taking or creative work.

With Touch ID built into the top button and long battery life, the iPad mini 7 manages to pack a full iPad experience into a small, lightweight frame. At $379, those features stand out even more to buyers who want performance in a compact package.
