Apple TV has picked up three more Directors' Guild awards, this time in the comedy and documentary categories, as well as outstanding advertising.
Apple now has a strong track record in nominations for television series at the Directors' Guild Awards — "Ted Lasso" has had seven — but few wins. Notably, "Lessons in Chemistry" won in the drama series category in 2024, and Apple has had a children's award plus advertising ones.
Now for the 78th Annual Directors' Guild Award, Apple has doubled its number of wins. In the ceremony in Beverley Hills on February 7, 2026, Apple won:
- Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Documentary Series/News: Rebecca Miller for the "All This Filming Isn't Healthy" episode of "Mr. Scorsese"
- Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy Series: Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg for "The Oner" episode of "The Studio"
- Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials: Kim Gehrig for "I'm Not Remarkable"
Accepting their comedy award, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg paid tribute to the late Catherine O'Hara.
"Honestly, there's no one we wish we could thank in person at this moment more than we would love to thank Catherine O'Hara," said Rogan.
Goldberg added: "We grew up in Canada, and she is and was quite literally our idol since we were children."
The advertising award was director Kim Gehrig's fourth nomination and third win. She previously won in 2022 for Apple's "The Greatest" and "Run Baby Run," the iPhone 13 commercial.
Ben Stiller had been nominated for "Severance" in the Dramatic Series category but lost to Amanda Marsalis for "The Pitt".
