Apple TV has earned five nominations for the 86th Peabody Awards, honoring the streamer across entertainment, children's, and factual programming.
The Peabody Awards exist to celebrate storytelling across different media, and across different forms from television to radio and podcasts. Apple TV won its first Peabody in 2021, getting it for "Ted Lasso" and specifically the show's radical optimism.
For the 86th annual Peabody Awards, Apple TV has been nominated across three categories. The nominations announced by the Peabody Awards are:
- Entertainment: Pluribus
- Children's: Shape Island
- Documentary: Come See Me in the Good Light; Vietnam: the War that Changed America; Mr Scorsese
"These nominees showcase the power of storytelling at its most urgent and expansive, where art, entertainment, and innovation collide with the defining issues of our time," said Peabody Awards executive director Jeffrey Jones. "Across every category, these nominees reflect the issues of our times and demand we engage more deeply."
The Peabody organization is part of the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication. Winners of the 86th awards will be announced on April 23, 2026, and the celebrated at a ceremony in Los Angeles on May 31.
Alongside the individual categories chosen by 28 jurors from over 1,000 submissions, separate achievement awards will also be presented. They include a Peabody Industry Icon Award for James L Brooks, director and co-creator of shows including "Lou Grant."
Apple has consistently won at the Peabody Awards. Following Apple TV's first wins with "Ted Lasso" and also "Stillwater" in 2021, it got three in 2023 with "Bad Sisters," "Severance," and "El Deafo."
In 2025, Apple also won a Peabody for its documentary "Bread & Roses."
