An Apple Store in Louisville, Kentucky will soon be getting a big facelift, with the store renovation expected to cost a cool $1 million.

Apple Oxmoor on Shelbyville Road, Louisville, Kentucky is a store that has a lot of glass in the front, as well as a courtyard. While Apple only moved into the store in September 2019, it has decided six and a half years later to give it an upgrade.

A permit filed with Louisville Metro Planning and Design spotted by Louisville Business First reveals that Apple is planning to make some big changes. Alterations are said to be valued at about a million dollars.

The filing is apparently low on actual details, but generally describes the renovation as the "replacement of exterior cladding in the Apple Store courtyard. There are also other improvements expected for a 659-square-foot section of the store.

The renovation will include both interior and exterior aspects.

The permit includes an estimated construction cost of $800,000, subject to change, which will be carried out by Sajo Construction of Montreal. Sajo has worked on multiple store projects for Apple over the last two decades, with Apple Sainte-Catherine in Montreal one of its latest.

Apple Oxmoor was opened as a sizable store in Oxmoor Center, consisting of more than 12,000 square feet of renovated space. This wasn't its first location in the mall, similar to how Tyson's Corner moved to a larger location.

Apple didn't has yet to comment or announce the project. Nor did General Growth Properties, owner of Oxmoor Center, adding it could not speak on behalf of a brand in residence.

While the permit filing exists, it is unknown when the renovation work will take place, or how long it will take to complete.
