Former Apple executive and marketing veteran Bozoma Saint John is joining Netflix.
Saint John, who departed Apple for Uber in 2017, will join the streaming giant as its Chief Marketing Officer, Variety reported. Her most recent post was CMO of holding company Endeavor.
"I'm thrilled to join Netflix, especially at a time when storytelling is critical to our global, societal well-being," Saint John said in a statement. "I feel honored to contribute my experience to an already dynamic legacy, and to continue driving engagement in the future."
At Netflix, the marketing veteran will report to chief content officer Ted Sarandos. Of Saint John, Sarandos said that she will "define and lead our next exciting phase of creativity and connection with consumers."
Saint John first joined Apple in 2014 with the acquisition of Beats Music.
During her time at Apple, Saint John served as the head of Global Marketing for Apple Music and iTunes. She worked on advertising and marketing campaigns featuring Taylor Swift, Mary J. Blige, Kerry Washington and Taraji P. Henson, and appeared in an ad spot herself that aired at the 2016 Emmy Awards.
In 2017, Saint John was highlighted as one of the "Most Powerful Women in Business" in Black Enterprise magazine. She also appeared on Billboard's Power 100 list that same year.
