Tim Cook, Eddy Cue return to annual elite Sun Valley conference [u]

The Sun Valley Conference is a venue for the leaders of major corporations to make deals, with many significant media deals usually agreed at the Idaho event each year. Hosted by Allen & Co., the conference is an invitation-only affair.

As pointed out by NPR, the event is held at the Sun Valley resort, which is tucked away in Sun Valley, Idaho — a town with less than 2,000 year-round residents.

Last year, organizers canceled the event due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, the event returns but will require attendees to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.

According to Vanity Fair, attendees will need to present a negative PCR test obtained within 72 hours of arrival, and require a second PCR test once on site. Masks will also be required in specific, high-density areas, and attendees will observe social distancing rules. Many of the events will also be held outside whenever possible.

As expected, Tim Cook will be attending the week-long conference. Also attending are big names like Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, and investment mogul Warren Buffet.

In 2019, both Tim Cook and Eddy Cue attended the Sun Valley Conference, where they spoke about the company's then-new streaming service, Apple TV+.

Update, July 8: The Daily Mail has confirmed both Tim Cook and Eddy Cue are in attendance at this year's conference.
