Apple TV+ has landed an upcoming action comedy film dubbed "The Family Plan," which is set to star Mark Wahlberg.
"The Family Plan" is the latest venture that's part of a partnership between Apple Original Studios and Skydance Media, Deadline has reported. It will be directed by Simon Cellan Jones, who has collaborated with Wahlberg in the past.
According to Deadline, the film will tell the story of a "suburban dad who must take his family on the run when his past catches up to him." It is written by David Coggeshall, known for "Lore," "Orphan: First Kill," and "The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia."
Wahlberg is set to produce the film alongside Stephen Levinson. Other producers will include David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Don Granger.
Apple's partnership with Skydance marked one of the company's best, with many industry watchers calling it one of the "richest." The deal has already resulted in other high-profile releases, like the animated film "Luck."
