Fans of "Minecraft" will soon be able to wear Beats Solo 4 featuring the game's Creeper mob, in a cross-branded release of the headphones.
Apple subsidiary Beats often offers versions of its products in limited editions, and frequently collaborates with other brands for the effort. For the Beats Solo 4, which is only a few months old, that has resulted in a Beats x Minecraft Solo 4 release.
In this instances, the headphones are black and green in color, complete with a green Beats logo and polygonal graphics on the earcups and side. This includes the face of a "Creeper," an enemy mob that can stalk and explode next to the player.
Along with the graphic changes, customers will also receive a unique code for an in-game headphone character creator item.
Further promoting the headphones, Minecraft content creator TinaKitten will curate a Spatial Audio playlist on Apple Music. TinaKitten and Apple Music Radio host Travis Mills will be at a special Today at Apple event at Apple Fifth Ave in New York on July 18.
A short animation has also been produced, showing off the headphones while taking viewers on a journey through the Minecraft world.
The Beats x Minecraft Solo 4 will be available from July 18, priced at $199.99, and sold via Apple's website and Target, as well as select Apple Stores.
AppleInsider reviewed the Beats Solo 4 favorably at 4.5 out of 5, due to its great audio quality, Spatial Audio with head tracking, and 50-hour battery life.
