Apple UK is inviting iPad owners to design a Christmas tree to be projected onto the towers of its Battersea headquarters in London.
For Christmas 2023, the Battersea Power Station towers were lit up by artist David Hockney, who used an iPad Pro to create "Bigger Christmas Trees." Then in 2024, Wallace and Gromit took over in an Aardman animation shot on iPhone 16 Pro Max.
Now Apple is inviting UK iPad users to light up the towers with their own designs, alongside ones from artists and celebrities. The campaign is presented by British comedian Munya Chawawa, and 24 winning entries will be projected onto the huge towers.
"Using the power and versatility of our most capable iPad lineup yet, we're excited to bring Christmas cheer to Battersea Power Station and inspire festive creativity across the nation," said Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing. "It's inspiring to see such remarkable talent across multiple mediums — all brought together alongside Munya Chawawa."
"We can't wait to experience these creations next to the incredible contributions from the public," he continued.
So far the only artists and celebrities announced are Sir Stephen Fry and David Shrigley, OBE.
For the UK public, the competition is now open and will run until one minute to midnight on November 23, 2025. Apple says that from November 6 to November 22, its UK Apple Stores will host special Today at Apple sessions to help.
However, it also separately says that the same sessions will continue on to December 22. That's "so that the public can get creative on iPad and Apple Pencil throughout the festive season."
To enter, users must be in the UK and start by downloading a template.
Apple moved to London's iconic Battersea Power Station in 2023. It's now the site of an Apple Store, as well as of the company's UK headquarters.
