Apple is now on round three of its current developer betas generation, providing new builds of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, and macOS Tahoe 26.2 for testing.

The third round appears after the second, which were distributed by Apple on November 12. The first batch for iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and tvOS 26.2 landed on November 4. The first developer beta for macOS Tahoe 26.2 arrived a bit later, on November 6.

  • iOS 26.2 beta 3 is build 23C5044b, replacing 23C5033g
  • iPadOS 26.2 beta 3 is build 23C5044b, replacing 23C5033g
  • watchOS 26.2 beta 3 is build 23S5297b, replacing 23S5286d
  • tvOS 26.2 beta 3 is build 23K5046a, replacing 23K5035d
  • macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 3 is build 25C5048a, replacing 25C5037g

For the moment, visionOS 26.2 is the only developer beta not to get a new third build. That could change if Apple releases it to testers in the coming days.

The first developer beta for iOS 26.2 included a Lock Screen slider to adjust the clarity of the interface. Apple News gained buttons marked Food, Politics, Puzzles, and Sports at the top of the screen.

Podcasts gained automatic episode chapters, mentions, and links. Reminders gained alarms, while Sleep Score had its band classifications tweaked.

The second iOS beta tweaked Liquid Glass more, as well as updating Games and CarPlay.

A new feature is being introduced for macOS Tahoe called Edge Light. It adds a virtual light ring to the edge of your Mac display to help light your face during calls.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommend against users installing beta operating systems or beta software onto primary or "mission-critical" hardware, due to the persistent risk of data loss. Beta participants should instead use secondary or less critical hardware and have sufficient backups of their data at all times.

Apple usually releases a public beta version of its updates shortly after the developer counterpart. A more battle-hardened version of the update, with potentially fewer bugs or issues, it is the version that interested members of the public should try, not the developer build.
