Apple has moved on to the second round of developer betas for the current testing generation, with fresh builds of iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOS 26.2, tvOS 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and macOS Tahoe 26.2 available for testing.

The second round of beta tests follow the first batch, which for iOS 26.2, iPadOS 26.2, watchOs 26.2, visionOS 26.2, and tvOS 26.2 landed on November 4. The first developer beta for macOS Tahoe 26.2 arrived a bit later, on November 6.

  • iOS 26.2 beta 2 is build 23C5033g, replacing 23C5027f
  • iPadOS 26.2 beta 2 is build 23C5033g, replacing 23C5027f
  • watchOS 26.2 beta 2 is build 23S5286d, replacing 23S5280e
  • visionOS 26.2 beta 2 is build 23N5285d, replacing 23N5279e
  • tvOS 26.2 beta 2 is build 23K5035d, replacing 23K5029e
  • macOS Tahoe 26.2 beta 2 is build 25C5037g, replacing 23K5029e

The initial developer beta for iOS 26.2 included a Lock Screen slider to adjust the clarity of the interface. Apple News gained buttons marked Food, Politics, Puzzles, and Sports at the top of the screen.

Podcasts gained automatic episode chapters, mentions, and links. Reminders gained alarms, while Sleep Score had its band classifications tweaked.

A new feature is being introduced for macOS Tahoe called Edge Light. It adds a virtual light ring to the edge of your Mac display to help light your face during calls.

AppleInsider and Apple strongly recommend against users installing beta operating systems or beta software onto primary or "mission-critical" hardware, due to the persistent risk of data loss. Beta participants should instead use secondary or less critical hardware, and have sufficient backups of their data at all times.

Apple usually releases a public beta version of its updates shortly after the developer counterpart. A more battle-hardened version of the update, with potentially fewer bugs or issues, it is the version that interested members of the public should try, not the developer build.
