Apple TV has earned a total of 14 nominations across film and television at the Golden Globes awards, with regular stand-outs like "Slow Horses" joined by "Pluribus."
Nominations for the major Golden Globes awards have been announced, with Apple TV doubling its score from 2024. Its new total of 14 is still less than in 2023 when it got 16, but this time Apple has fully half of the Best Television Series — Drama nominations.
Apple has three of the six shows in that most significant TV category:
- Severance
- Slow Horses
- Pluribus
Over all the announced categories, Apple's latest critically-acclaimed series, "Pluribus," scored a nomination for Best Television Series — Musical or Comedy. The show also saw a nod for Rhea Seehorn in the Best Female actor in a drama.
Seehorn is now competing in that category against Britt Lower, from Apple TV's "Severance." Apple is also facing a similar battle in the Best Supporting Male actor category, with Tramell Tillman from "Severance" competing against Billy Crudup for "The Morning Show."
There are also acting nods for Gary Oldman as Best Male actor in a drama, and Seth Rogen in the equivalent category for comedy. Rogan is nominated for "The Studio," and co-star Catherine O'Hara from that series has a nomination for Best Supporting Female actor.
The Golden Globes also recognize excellence in film production. Apple's "F1: The Movie" missed out on the Best Picture category, but achieved a nomination for its original score by Hans Zimmer.
"F1: The Movie" is also nominated in the category for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
The winners will be announced on January 11, in a ceremony to be screened on CBS and Paramount+.
