Apple has snatched up Lilian Rincon, a nearly decade-long Google veteran, as it continues to retool its Apple Intelligence team.

Before working at Apple, Rincon served as Vice President of Product Management at Google since 2024. However, before that she held various product management roles in the company since 2017.

According to 9to5Mac, Rincon will lead product marketing and product management for its AI platforms, including Apple Intelligence and Siri. In the role, she'll report directly to Greg Joswiak, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing.

In December, Apple hired another long-time Google veteran, Amar Subramanya, who spent sixteen years at the company, followed with a very brief stint at Microsoft. Subramanya has replaced John Giannandrea, as senior vice president for Machine Learning and AI Strategy.

Bigger, better remains to be seen

Apple has faced repeated delays in an effort to roll out parts of its announced Apple Intelligence. Specifically, it has been unable to release the new, improved Siri, a project that has faced delays since its 2024 announcement.

Apple has repeatedly assured users that it would be out soon, first in iOS 18.4, then through the entirety of 2025. Most recently, it assured users that they'd get to try out the new Siri in the iOS 26.4 beta, only for it to get pushed back to iOS 27.

As a result of the delays, Apple has undergone some significant restructuring surrounding its Apple Intelligence team. After John Giannandrea left in 2025, the company didn't scale back on AI operations.

Several members of the AI team have departed — many of them poached by competitors. Even with that, the company doesn't seem to be bereft of researchers.

In fact, it seems like it might notably larger than previously reported.

Apple has spent the last several months on role swapping and restructuring, though not solely regarding its artificial intelligence efforts.
