Leak shows much larger 'iPhone 13 Pro Max' camera, slightly thicker chassis

Comparing the current iPhone range with new mockups (source: EverythingApplePro)

New 3D-printed mockups based on leaked designs for the "iPhone 13" range backup previous claims of a thicker chassis, but also significantly larger camera bump on the "iPhone 13 Pro Max."

The most recent rumors about the "iPhone 13 Pro" say that it will be 0.2mm thicker than its predecessor. Giving credence to that report, a new video from EverythingApplePro claims to show that the larger "iPhone 13 Pro Max" will be 0.26mm thicker than the previous model.

Both the larger model and the "iPhone 13 mini" are featured in the new video, which examines 3D-printed mockups derived from what are claimed to be CAD files. Reportedly, these are the specifications sent to case and accessory manufacturers.

As well as the thicker body, the "iPhone 13 Pro Max" also features a camera bump that protrudes a further 0.9mm, compared to the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The camera bump is also larger overall, with each of its lenses being significantly bigger.

The camera module bump has also been arranged into more of a square shape. On the "iPhone 13 Pro Max," it will seemingly be 36.56mm wide by 37.62mm tall. The "iPhone 13 mini" will be even closer to a perfect square at 28.26mm by 28.27mm

The overall width and height of both the larger and mini phones remains the same, but the notch is again seen to be smaller. EverythingApplePro claims that LiDAR is larger on the "iPhone 13 Pro Max," and is not on the "iPhone 13 mini."

There are also revisions to the internals of the next iPhone, which can be seen by the changing positions of buttons and the SIM tray.

Both of the volume buttons are now a couple of millimeters higher up the side of the phone's chassis. The SIM card tray is also slightly repositioned. That's most likely due to the previously-reported claim that Apple is saving space by integrating the SIM card slot with the mainboard.

What do you expect, 1 kg heavier? It’ll most likely be a single digit gram value.

A 0.2mm increased in thickness will be about a 3% increase in volume.  You likely won't notice any increase in weight, if there even is one.

Some people have to try to make a point about everything. The “I pass!” Sounds so strong and definitive.

Agreed,  many people feel the current max model is already too big and heavy.  This is why choice is good,  if people want to walk around with this “phablet” have fun.  I’m considering the iPhone very few people allegedly want - the mini.  The other option of the 6.1 size seems good also and at the limit of bulk that is desirable.
