M2 MacBook Air, Apple Watch, Lockdown Mode on the AppleInsider Podcast

Preorders have begun for the M2 MacBook Air, with the first orders arriving on July 15. We discuss how this new model compares to a 14-inch MacBook Pro and what to consider when ordering.

Lockdown Mode is a new feature available to test in iOS 16 beta 3, but it isn't for most people. Despite that, we're sure those who are hyper-conscious about security will enable it anyway.

Also, there are new rumors surrounding the "Apple Watch Series 8" and its "extreme" model. We contemplate what materials Apple could use other than aluminum or steel, and try to decide how big is too big for an Apple Watch.

Finally, iCloud Shared Photo Library is live in the latest beta, and one of the hosts takes the risk to activate the feature and see what it is all about. It will likely see some changes before release, but the prospect of a new way to share photos with family is exciting.
