Elon Musk himself has now said that Apple never intended to remove Twitter from the App Store, after taking a walk around Apple Park with CEO Tim Cook on Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk visited Apple's headquarters in California. The visit was prompted by Musk's very public concern that Apple would remove Twitter from the App Store.
Now, Musk has tweeted that Twitter was never up for removal in the first place.
Good conversation. Among other things, we resolved the misunderstanding about Twitter potentially being removed from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing so.

It's not clear where or how Musk initially got the idea that Apple would remove Twitter from the App Store.
Musk finalized his purchase of Twitter in October, buying it for $46.5 billion. Since then, he has laid off employees and shaken up the company's Twitter Blue subscription, as well as its verification process for blue checkmarks.
