Apple issues second 16.4 firmware beta for Studio Display

The Studio Display has received beta firmware from Apple, which brings the monitor's software to version 16.4.

The company released the first beta firmware update for the monitor on February 18, and now a second version is available, build 20E5223e. Users running the macOS Ventura 13.3 beta can install the updated for a connected Studio Display.

Studio Display owners who are beta users can update their firmware by heading to System Settings on their Mac and then Software Update to see if it is accessible and installable.

It's unclear what Apple has included in the firmware, but it could contain bug fixes, security patches, or improvements to performance.

The update comes two weeks after Apple restarted the beta cycles with iOS 16.4, macOS Ventura 13.3, and updated versions for other products.

Some of the new features include more actions in Shortcuts, an Always-On display Focus Filter, and possibly the arrival of Apple's long-awaited Savings account for Apple Pay users.

Sure wish I could airplay to my studio display without a connected device.
