Apple CEO Tim Cook has promised the company will donate to relief efforts in Asia, after natural disasters hit Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka.
Less than a week after announcing its planned contributions to humanitarian efforts in Hong Kong, Apple will now donate to disaster relief efforts to Asian countries affected by recent natural disasters.
Those affected countries include Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka. They were impacted by devastating storms, as flooding and landslides reportedly took the lives of more than 1,300 people.
Apple's planned donation was announced on Tuesday by the company's CEO, Tim Cook, in a social media post. The iPhone maker will contribute an undisclosed amount to relief and building efforts in affected areas.
Storms across Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka have devastated communities. At Apple, we're thinking of everyone affected, and will be donating to relief and building efforts on the ground.

Heavy rainfall has caused a devastating amount of destruction in the affected areas. Mudslides and high floodwaters left many stranded and without food or shelter, as countless roads were blocked and bridges damaged.
Apple often contributes to disaster relief efforts. In October 2025, the company announced it would donate to relief efforts after Hurricane Melissa. In March 2025, Apple similarly donated to Myanmar and Thailand, following an earthquake.
The company also sent money and resources to a variety of countries that suffered natural disasters in 2024, including Pakistan and Brazil.
In March 2022, Apple collaborated with UNICEF to provide relief to families affected by the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. Earlier, in October 2021, the iPhone maker donated to help communities affected by severe flooding in northern China.
