The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are claimed to have new under-display technology, but it's not known just how much that will reduce the Dynamic Island.

Previous leaks regarding the iPhone 18 range have said that the models will closely resemble their iPhone 17 counterparts. Now Digital Chat Station claims that most of the iPhone 18 range will keep to the same screen sizes as before, specifically:

  • iPhone 18 Pro Max: 6.86-inch with under-display technology
  • iPhone 18 Pro: 6.27-inch with under-display technology
  • iPhone 18: 6.27-inch
  • iPhone Air 2: 6.55-inch

Each of these is said to be a 120Hz LTPO screen, but the two Pro models are claimed to have new under-display systems. Note that Digital Chat Station does not claim to have screen sizes for the expected iPhone Fold.

The translated leak shows that the dimensions are the same as for the current iPhone 17 range. This means that the only new feature is this unspecified under-screen technology.

This does fit with previous rumors regarding the iPhone 18 Pro. Those claims of under-display Face ID also fit with repeated reports from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Previous claims from leaker Digital Chat Station have been a little more details. He or she has said Apple is considering having a hole-punch style notch, although prior to that it was claimed the notch would go entirely.

Note that while Digital Chat Station has been accurate before, the leaker has only a sporadic track record.

Separately, other reports regarding the iPhone 18 Pro include ones saying that the model will lose the current two-tone coloring. Apple is also said to be testing three colors for the range, specifically burgundy, purple, and a coffee color.

The iPhone 18 Pro range is expected to be launched starting in September 2026. Persistent rumors say that Apple will split the launch, announcing the core iPhone 18 later — at about the time sales trends shift away from Pro models to base models.

If so, Apple is then expected to launch the regular iPhone 18 and perhaps the iPhone Air 2 in early 2027.
